A grenade accidentally detonated inside the court’s evidence room in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday, injuring an on-duty police officer. The explosion occurred around 1.05 PM, prompting immediate response from authorities to bring the situation under control.
“A grenade (collected as evidence in a case) exploded inside the ‘malkhana (evidence room)’ of a court in Baramulla town on Thursday,” a police official said.
The injured officer was swiftly taken to a local hospital for treatment. In the wake of the incident, police have urged the public not to believe any rumours circulating about the event.
