In a decisive move to uphold the rule of law , act against Drug suppliers and protect state land from encroachment, the administration of Samba, led by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma & SSP Samba, Vinay Sharma planned a successful operation resulting in the demolition of an illegally constructed structure of Notorious Drug Criminal in Birpur village. The structure, which occupied one kanal and 12 marla of state land, was razed by a team of ADC Samba Suresh Chander, JKAS , SDPO Baribrahmana, Mukund Tibrewal IPS, SDM Vijaypur Umesh , Tehsildar Baribrahmana Punica & SHO Baribrahmana, following meticulous ground verification and with the assistance of local law enforcement.
Furthermore, in a significant breakthrough against Drug related activities, the administration, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, had apprehended a notorious individual, Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy, operating such an illicit establishment. Sharma, hailing from Chaudahi, Sainik Colony, Jammu, had been evading justice amidst a string of serious allegations, including violence, illegal confinement, drug supply and fraudulence in his running drug network behind a veil of fake drug de-addiction center located in Birpur, Bari Brahmana.
The arrest of Sharma, was executed under Case FIR No. 11/2024 at Bari Brahmana Police Station earlier this month, marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to root out drug criminals from society. With his involvement in 17 FIRs across Jammu and Samba districts, encompassing offenses ranging from attempted murder to drug peddling, Sharma’s detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA) underscores the unwavering commitment of the administration and law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of our citizens.
The successful operation, which saw the demolition of illegal structures and the apprehension of a notorious drug criminal, serves as a testament to the strict law enforcement in the District that Illegal activities shall not be allowed in the district and strictest possible action under law will be taken.
