The Adani Group on Wednesday revealed plans to inject a whopping 2 lakh crore into the green energy and renewable sectors over the next five years. The announcement was made by Adani Group chairperson Gautam Adani at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.
Gautam Adani, speaking at the summit, outlined the ambitious investment strategy that positions Adani Group as a key player in India’s transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
“We are expanding the green supply chain for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and creating the largest integrated, renewable energy ecosystem…Over the next five years, the Adani group will invest over Rs 2 lakh crores in Gujarat,” Gautam Adani said.
The financial commitment underscores the conglomerate’s dedication to spearheading the green energy revolution, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
This multi-billion-dollar investment is set to drive innovations, create employment opportunities, and significantly contribute to the growth of the renewable energy sector in Gujarat. Gautam Adani indicated that the investment is expected to create up to 1 lakh jobs.
Besides outlining the conglomerate’s investment plan for Gujarat, Adani went on to highlight the stellar economic growth India has achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He highlighted India’s strong GDP growth and per capita income since 2014, and added that the “best is yet to come”. “India of today is poised to shape the global future of tomorrow,” he added.
Speaking about the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Adani said, “Vibrant Gujarat is a stunning manifestation of your (PM Modi) extraordinary vision. It has all your hallmark signatures, merging grand ambition, massive scale, meticulous governance and flawless execution.
