A pall of gloom descended on the village Abtal Katlan near here today when the news that the Indian Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) jawan from the village Joginder Singh has attained martyrdom in Naxalite’s attack at Chattisgarh today, spread.

The family members were seen wailing and sobbing. All the villagers were also in rude shock after hearing the news and they had no words to console the family.
Martyr Joginder Singh, son of Dilip Singh was a brave and disciplined soldier. He was on duty and was accompanying an ITBP party to open the road to bring back the polling party from Bade Gobra in Gariaband district of Chhatisgarh. The explosion occurred when the foot of a soldier guarding the polling party stepped on an IED planted by the naxalites.
As the ITBP jawan left to bring the polling party back he was not knowing that the luck had something else in store for him and his other colleagues as the Naxalites had planted the IED to eliminate the Road Opening Party.
Martyr leaves behind his wife, a nine year old son, old aged parents, an elder brother, two younger brothers and a sister. He belonged to a brave family as his father Dilip Singh had also retired from Army as Subedar while his elder brother had retired from Army. His one brother is also serving in ITBP while, another is working in BSF.
